After initial contact with you, we would arrange to visit you at home to have a look at the area in question, discuss your ideas with you as well as take some preliminary measurements for your design drawings. |
|
As you can see below our drawings are in full colour to try and better convey the concept of the design. As with all concepts, they are subject to revision from design to fruition! We aim to keep in touch with you during the design stages to keep you updated with any changes that have been made to the design. |
 |
You might recognise this design from our Project Archive, ( PA-3) it shows how the 2D concept can become a reality in your own garden. |
Obviously It is difficult to convey a 3D design on paper, after all you can't beat seeing it in front of you, but we believe this is a good compromise, and certainly better than the back of an old envelope! |
Good exterior space design has to take the lay of the land, proportion and, to a certain extent the environs into consideration to provide that unique space that's blends your wishes and needs together. The lay of the land in our
(PA-1) for example pretty much dictated the use of terracing as there is a seven foot difference in levels from the top of the garden to the bottom!
|
The drawings endeavour to show the proposed planting as well as the physical structure of the design, it isn't possible to accurately render the individual materials that are proposed, rather the drawings should be considered as a guide to what can be done with your available space. |

Our clients wanted to have exterior lighting around the sunken 'Fire Pit' and ultimately in the cherry tree as well, we produced a 'Night Time' version of the drawing to give them an idea of how the light would fall at night. The nature of the glass bricks distorting the light and giving you a more 'organic' glow rather than stadium floodlighting. |
 |
Another contemporary use of glassbricks was achieved in our ( PA-6) mixing glass and timber to create a visually stunning pergola. |
We will have already given you a rough guesstimate as to the likely costs involved, but we will of course give you a written quote after the design is finalised. (This could be subject to agreed changes with you, should you wish to alter the final design) |
Our design and consultation service is 'free' should you go ahead with your project, otherwise a nominal charge could be made to cover the time element of the incurred expenses. In this event the drawings and design would remain the property of C&G |
